Halcyon has spent over 10 years in emergency communications in various roles and has found a passion for all things dispatch and talent development. She loves learning more about how we learn and how to apply that in many facets of public safety. Her favorite thing, though, is to share this with others to help our industry move forward! Between a full-time role of training emergency communications professionals and still dispatching part-time, she admits she is a bit of a dispatch nerd. She also has a degree in Training & Development, is a certified Emergency Number Professional, and a certified Associate Professional in Talent Development. She is an avid fan of The Golden Girls and her dog - Reese.

Kris Inman is a nationally recognized educator, speaker, and 911 industry leader with over 30 years of service in public safety. He currently serves as the Director of Program Development for The Healthy Dispatcher, where he delivers impactful educational sessions, keynotes, motivational talks, to emergency communications professionals across the country.

Kris retired in July 2023 after a distinguished 28-year career with Springfield-Greene County (MO) 9-1-1, where he became the first internal hire to serve as Director. Beginning his career as a telecommunicator in 1994, he advanced through the ranks as a trainer, supervisor, and Training & Education Manager before being named the department’s first ever internally promoted Director in 2020. His tenure was marked by transformative accomplishments, including the implementation of 15 new career laddering positions, pay increases exceeding 20%, retirement benefit enhancements, major upgrades to dispatch and training infrastructure, and the successful launch of a next generation 9-1-1 technology project. Under his leadership, the center saw record-high budget surpluses and unprecedented recognition of staff at state and local levels.

Beyond his work in public safety, Kris has taught communication and leadership at both Missouri State University and Drury University, earning a prestigious University Teaching Award in 2022. He holds a Master of Arts in Communication and a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Media from Missouri State University and is a certified yoga instructor.

Kris is also a dedicated community advocate, serving as an activist and Society Ambassador with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Emcee for events like Bike MS Ozarks and Walk MS. He recently concluded a two-year term as Chair of the United Way campaign for the City of Springfield.
